Episode 003 – Where’s the Info?
Do your promo materials answer the basic questions of life? I’ve been noticing a common problem with promo materials within the comics/creative arena. In this podcast, I address that issue and encourage folks to put as much effort into promotion/marketing as they do the more creative side of their projects.
There’s only one big segment in this podcast but cover a bunch of little things at the beginning here are links to the things I talk about.
I mention my recent blog 5 Things That Have Changed Since I Started in Webcomics. An illustrated blog post, the title says it all.
Gerard Folz is drawing one panel scenes from Star Wars every day this year. Literally 1 panel a day for 365 days this year. Each panel is a scene. So far they are looking really great. He’s posting these only to his Twitter for now, as far as I can tell.
Shout out to my Twitter acquaintance Reyn, aka GirlToonist. A talented cartoonist, who posts comics daily to her Twitter feed, usually directly from her sketch book. Hilarious, but sometimes also very, VERY NSFW. You’ve been warned! If you want to check ’em out, here’s her Twitter info:
Where’s the Info?
As you find out, fitting to the main topic of my podcast, there’s not a lot of linkage. But I do mention the Central Coast Comic Con, which I had a blast at this last summer. If you’re looking for info on that, here’s their website.
What do YOU think? I’d love to hear your thoughts on any of the topics discussed in the podcast. Go ahead and start up a discussion in the comments!
